Perseids

The Perseids Meteor shower will be lighting up earth's sky tonight, September 9th between midnight and 2 a.m. I always enjoy these showers, this one especially since the moon will not get in the way. Last night, Sat the 8th, I saw six meteors flying through the sky. I was amazied at the beauty of our universe. I tried to take a picture, but it was useless. Though I had to stay up untill around 2:30 a.m., seeing six meteors was totally worth. So, if your a sky gazer, tonight would be the perfect night to check out the sky. Instead of looking straight up into the sky, I suggest looking to the sides, where not a lot of stars are located. Well, good luck to ya'll. Here is a website to keep you updated on showers ahead.

Could this be?

Drinking is becoming more a part of American life. Relaxing with friends and family having a few cold ones, it is definitely more of a social thing. The social aspect of our life is important because it allows us to interact with others. I have noticed how some animals rely on social life too. In South Africa, a tree called Marula produces a sour fruit, kind of like grapefruit.

In the summer months, the fruit springs up attracting animals. After some time, the fruit begins to fall of the tree. As the fruit sits it ferments. The animals seem to know this as they all slowly become intoxicated. I guess every living thing on earth deserves a break every now and then.

Battle for survival.

Some of you may have already seen this video. I was web surfing and came across it by chance. The fight for survival happens around us every day whether we see it or not. This video made me realize how much change is going on in nature. Animals are figuring out how to adapt to every situation and work together to accomplish a goal. I feel evolution continues to change the world we live. The animal is awesome to study, anyone have any comments on the vid?
BATTLE AT KRUGER

Today, September first, is a good time to watch different games going on. Fulham, after loosing star Clint Dempsey, were crushed by opponents West Ham in an intense 3-0 game. Looks like the Fulham gap is still empty even after the team received Berbatov,  a Bulgarian international who played for Manchester United.

Norwich welcomed Tottenham today giving Dempsey a chance to play for his new club. Dempsey was never subbed in because of some paper work that that to be finalized. Why did Dempsey leave Fulham to potentially not receive as much playing time is beyond me. My best guess is the managers of Fulham were simply ready for Dempsey to leave. Keep your eyes open for tomorrow's game as Arsenal, my favorite team, takes on Liverpool, a force not to be underestimated.

Here is a link to the schedules if anyone is curious when they are on.    schedule

Double Play

U.S . international Clint Dempsey was transferred from Fulham to Tottenham  on Friday. He received 9.5 million for the transfer. There is an interesting story behind this transfer, as Dempsey twitted "A lot was said and written ahead of me leaving Fulham. It wasn’t how it was portrayed, but that’s in the past now and we move on" on the Tottenham twitter site.

Dempsey was first offered a deal with Aston Villa. While the two clubs accepted the offer, Dempsey had other things in as he rejected the offer because of his dream to play for Liverpool. Shortly after, Dempsey's dream was answered Liverpool made an offer which was too low in the eyes of the Fulham club. It appears that Dempsey was going to take the offer, but the club rejected Liverpools offer to get back at him for not accepting the deal with Aston Villa, which was larger than the Liverpool offer.

Dempsey's trade has made him the highest paid U.S. soccer player ever, a title that was held by Fulham's goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

Goal.

Van Persie scored his first goal for Manchester United to tie the game in a match against Fulham. The curious thing about this goal is the silence affect it had afterward. A few Arsenal fans attended Van Persie's first game for Manchester, when played Everton, and booed Van Parsie the entire time he was playing. However, when he scored an incredible goal against Fulham, the Arsenal fans in the crowd could not help but regret the loss of probably their best player. Though the loss of Van Persie has brought depression the Arsenal side, they continue to battle for wins and a top spot in the premiere league.

Persie's Goal

Traitor

The recent start of the Barclays Premier League has triggered a peculiar debate about the trading of players. Arsenal fans, for example, feel betrayed after powerhouse Manchester United purchased Robin Van Persie, Arsenals best player. The biggest surprise however came from Van Persie's eagerness and willingness to leave Arsenal. Sure, every player has to make decisions that most benefits him, we all do this from time to time ( I do so all the time). The transition of Van Persie to Manchester United has left Arsenal without hope, though there may be a slight chance.

Though it has been a few weeks since the trade, Arsenal fans still think to unfair. Van Persie was their best player for several seasons and the team is now left struggling without. Whatever happened to playing to playing sports for the sake of love?
